Over two weeks ago the House has passed a bill to extend benefits but the Senate is still trying to work out the extension details. Senate Democrats would like to lengthen unemployment benefits by fourteen weeks in all states and add an additional six weeks for states with the highest unemployment rates.
September’s unemployment rate was at a twenty-six year high at nine point eight percent. One out of every three people who are on unemployment benefits have been without work for at least six months.
Walmart, Target and Kmart all open in the same year of 1962. Since it’s beginning less than fifty years ago Walmart now has over eight thousand stores with over two million employees. One hundred and seventy-six million customers shop at walmart each year.
